Study abroad in Turkey with Towson University in Summer 2025! Explore the social, cultural, spiritual, economic, and political determinants of health equity, and access to healthcare through the lens of the social justice framework. Compare and contrast the Turkish and US healthcare systems in terms of access, equity, and health education. Deepen your appreciation of what it means to be a healthcare professional through site visits to healthcare and higher education institutions and organizations. Cultural activities, guest lectures, and community engagement opportunities will give you a broader perspective on the social components of health and healthcare.

The program is located in Istanbul - Turkey's capital city at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, steeped in thousands of years of history. Program highlights include a guest lecture by a representative from the Turkish Medical Association and visits to non-profit organizations, health clinics, hospitals, and local universities. Students will also take a walking tour of Istanbul's Grand Bazaar and visit the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque - referred to as the '8th wonder of the world' by art historians.
