Study away in California in Spring Break 2022! Don't miss out on this unique oppportunity to learn about the development and delivery of professional presentations directly from industry leaders. Students will enroll in a special section of COMM 131 taught on the TU campus during the first 7-week spring 2022 course session followed by a culminating experience presenting their final projects to corporate partners in Silicon Valley during Spring Break.

Participants will also have the opportunity to explore San Francisco's rich cultural landscape. Highlights include a Cable car ride to Lombard Street, a visit to the infamous Alcatraz Island, a chance to see the sea lions at Pier 39, and excursions to the Mission District, Balmy Alley Street, Twin Peaks, and Golden Gate Park.

Spring Break 2022

January 31 - March 27, 2022 (study away component in San Francisco March 18 - 27, 2022). Students will enroll in a special section of COMM 131 taught on the TU campus during the first 7-week spring 2022 course session followed by a culminating experience presenting their final projects to corporate partners in Silicon Valley during Spring Break.

OCTOBER 15, 2021. Admission is on a rolling basis. Early application is advised as space is limited.

Students will take COMM 131 Public Speaking (3 credits; Core 5).

Shared occupancy rooms in hotels or hostels.

Program fee includes academic credit, housing, excursions, on-site orientation, and some meals. Additional costs include airfare, personal expenses, all other meals, and the Study Abroad/Away Fee.

The Towson University Study Abroad Office reserves the right to make any necessary changes including adjustments in cost in the event that unforeseen circumstances arise.

Withdrawals/Refunds: After admission into the program, the student is responsible for the full program fee. Should the student wish to withdraw from the program for any reason after admission, only recoverable expenses may be refunded. Non-recoverable expenses may include but are not limited to costs paid to a provider, travel agency, or other third party by TU on the students behalf; housing; transportation; non-refundable deposits; activity fees; honorariums; guest lecture fees. Towson University withdrawal/drop/add deadlines do not apply. The student must submit his/her intention to withdraw in writing to the TU Study Abroad Office.

 

 

Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5, a high school diploma or equivalent experience, and be at least 18 years old.

IMPORTANT: All participants will be required to have a COVID vaccine in order to participate. A negative COVID test prior to departure from the U.S. and/or upon arrival may also be required for entry into the host country. Participants must comply with all entry requirements, social distancing, and PPE guidelines of the host country and program provider/host institution and will be responsible for providing their own PPE for the duration of their time abroad (if applicable). All students are strongly encouraged to purchase cancel for any reason (CFAR) insurance to cover all study abroad related expenses.
